6DOT50 COVID-19 ACCOUNT RULES

These rules govern the relationship between 6DOT50 (us) and 6DOT50 members (you) who chose to contribute value to the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account, in order to help 6DOT50 members resident in South Africa during lockdown, and members (you) who choose to benefit from this special rewards campaign.

REASON FOR THE 6DOT50 COVID-19 ACCOUNT

More than 11 million South African residents do not own a bank account and many will run out of cash to pay for essential goods during the COVID-19 lockdown period. Given the current economic climate characterised by salary cuts and job losses, we anticipate that help will need to be extended to a broader community that may well also find themselves unable to pay for essential goods.

Today there is no easy, safe and immediate way to HELP people that need help now. Various initiatives have been established to collect funds to help businesses survive and food parcels are being provisioned where possible but logistical challenges make it difficult to reach all members. 6DOT50 is in the unique position to deliver value instantly and safely directly to those that need it now.

6DOT50 Digital Rands are accepted at all participating 6DOT50 redemption partners across South Africa making it possible for people to receive 6DOT50 Digital Rands directly to their mobile phone and to use their Digital Rands to pay for all essential goods and services available at these 6DOT50 redemption partners. We are adding stores as fast as we can including the ability to purchase essential goods from Spaza Shops in informal settlements.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

All members joining the 6DOT50 solution may BUY Digital Rands either by using their bank card or by visiting one of over 100,000 touch points to pay for their Digital Rand vouchers using cash. Places where you can pay for your Digital Rands includes

WHO WILL QUALIFY FOR DIGITAL RAND REWARDS?

Only members that are 18 years and older, resident in South Africa and who verify their account, by submitting their identity documentation, will qualify for Digital Rand Rewards from the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account. This verification process is necessary to ensure that members with more than one mobile number do not received duplicate rewards. As a verified member of 6DOT50 you will automatically qualify to receive benefits from this special rewards campaign.

HOW ARE THE DIGITAL RANDS IN THE 6DOT50 COVID-19 ACCOUNT DISTRIBUTED?

During lockdown and on activation of the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account, we will aim to distribute the following value (Distribution Target) to qualifying members, subject to sufficient funds being available in the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account:

  • R30.00 in Digital Rand value each day, following the day that the member was verified or the day that 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account was activated, as applicable.

The distribution to qualifying members will be subject to achieving a minimum contribution of R30,000 (thirty thousand Rand) in the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account. Where insufficient funds are available to meet the daily distribution target per member the amount distributed will be reduced. In all cases qualifying members will benefit equally.

In the event that the minimum contribution amount of R30,000 is not achieved and no distribution is made to qualifying members, the full value of the funds held in the Account will be donated to the Solidarity Fund.

WHAT CAN A QUALIFYING MEMBER DO WITH DIGITAL RANDS?

All members may use their Digital Rand value to pay for goods and services from approved 6DOT50 redemption partners.

Refund requests relating to Digital Rand rewards will not be permitted.

Digital Rand Rewards distributed by the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account will expire after 5 days if the qualifying member, that received the Digital Rands, does not USE a portion of their Digital Rand value to pay for goods and services. Expired Digital Rand Reward value will be returned to the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account and the qualifying member will be excluded from receiving further benefits from the 6DOT50 COVID-19 Account.
